The harvest survey of deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone (ZON), run by nabim in conjunction with AIC (the trade association representing grain merchants, among other agricultural industries) is now complete.
Typically, over 1,000 DON and ZON results are received from both nabim and AIC members, covering wheat grown across the UK. These allow member companies to develop risk assessments for these regulated mycotoxins for the upcoming season.
The data is also used in nabim representational work when policymakers consider changes to mycotoxin regulation, and help us make the case for practical maximum levels that do not exclude too great a proportion of the crop from the food market.
