UK FLOUR MILLERS PUBLISH 2026 WHEAT GUIDE ONLINE THIS JUNE FOR INDUSTRY USE

Latest wheat guide highlights new wheat varieties and updated UKFM Group insights for farmers, agronomists, and stakeholders

UK Flour Millers published the 2026 Wheat Guide online this June via its website. The guide provides updated insight into milling requirements, wheat varieties, and quality expectations across the market.

Complementing AHDB’s Recommended List, the Wheat Guide 2026 sets out the flour milling industry’s view on wheat varieties. It includes updates on UKFM Group classifications and highlights new varieties such as Group 1 winter wheat Arlington and spring wheat Charland. The guide supports growers in making informed planting and marketing decisions as demand for high quality milling wheat remains consistent.

UK Flour Millers represents the UK flour milling industry and works to ensure a reliable supply of safe, high-quality wheat and flour. The organisation publishes the Wheat Guide annually to provide a consolidated view of industry interests.

The 2026 Wheat Guide reinforces the importance of understanding individual mill requirements, as preferences can vary depending on end use. Growers are encouraged to engage directly with local mills to maximise value, supported by tools such as UK Flour Millers’ mill map.

The guide also underscores the scale and stability of demand for milling wheat, with UK millers consistently using around 5 million tonnes annually, of which up to 85 percent is homegrown. Flour remains a staple ingredient in the foods that fill the nation, contributing significantly to the nation’s diet and reinforcing the importance of a resilient domestic wheat supply chain.

The 2026 Wheat Guide is available to download from the UK Flour Millers website. Farmers, agronomists, and industry professionals who would prefer a printed version can request a copy directly from the organisation.
