Maintaining high standards of hygiene

UK Flour Millers members are very careful about maintaining high standards of hygiene in their mills. The main regulation on food hygiene is Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs. In conjunction with the Food Standards Agency and local authorities, UK Flour Millers has drawn up a guide to compliance with these regulations, which is available to purchase from TSO.

Whilst this guide is not legally binding, officers from food authorities must take it into account when assessing compliance with the regulations. The guide forms part of a series of industry guides to Good Hygiene Practice that are formally recognised by the FSA.
