Digital passport is gathering speed

Following efforts by the milling industry and others to revive the project, the development of a digital grain passport is finally set to begin.

The previous version, known as the eGrain passport, could not be signed off due to disagreements over the scope of the project. These have since been resolved and AHDB is gearing up to tender for a revised version.

Discussions have included what the quality data will be used for, as well as other features the passport should include. UK Flour Millers has already submitted member feedback in response to the initial consultation, covering our requests for certain features and seeking clarity on key issues such as data ownership and integration with IT systems.

Engagement across the chain will be key to ensuring the new passport is supported by all. We will continue to keep members informed of developments.
