Bread prices have been rising strongly across the European Union, as reported recently by Eurostat, with an average increase of 18 percent over the last year, see here.
And according to the Office of National Statistics, bread prices in the UK have risen by the same amount, with virtually all the increases occurring in the last six months.
In both cases, analyst expectations are for further price inflation in the coming months as factors such as increased energy costs come to bear.
