Brexit meetings back on the agenda

nabim is to restart regular Brexit meetings in July, as the UK’s preparations to leave the European Union gather pace. The meetings are designed to provide nabim members with regular updates on the latest Brexit-related issues and how these might impact upon the flour milling industry.

New impetus has been given to discussions about the future relationship between the UK and the EU following the intervention from the PM and the Presidents of the EU Commission and Council.

Intensive negotiations will take place on a weekly basis throughout July, with a view to reaching agreement by October at the latest.

“Despite the more positive rhetoric about the need for compromise, there still seem to be significant gaps between the sides; there is also a long way to go before uncertainties around the Northern ireland Protocol are resolved.” Alex Waugh, nabim director general

The meetings will begin on 2 July. Members wishing to join in should contact Sophie Young for further information or login details.
